Welcome to 2010, the 10 year anniversary of Toluna! As you likely saw in our trading statement released on February 1, 2010, you know that in 2009 Toluna performed well ahead of market expectations this year. This is of course a great accomplishment to the good work done by our employees across the globe and around the clock. This was for all of us an exceptional year.
For those of you that are not familiar with the company, I personally began the company as a small start-up in May 2000, with a single online consumer panel in France. By 2005, we had panels in 6 countries, offices in the UK and Germany, and an IPO under our belts. In 2007 we launched our first online ‘community’ which is something we’ve continued to invest in and believe remains a competitive differentiator for us.
In 2009 we acquired and integrated Greenfield Online/Ciao Surveys to become one of the largest global players in the market research space with panels in 34 countries, and global offices.
Toluna is a major force in global market research services and our unique platform facilitates the collection of opinions and dialogue between brands and consumers, enabling us to ask 1 – 100 questions of anyone, anytime, anywhere.
- Anyone - In depth profiling of our panelists enable us to target niche segments and hard to reach audiences. In addition, Toluna’s Real Time Sampling® can expand reach beyond panels.

Did you know that Toluna will donate a percentage of the cost per completes generated in January and February to the relief effort in Haiti?
We’re going to run this program until we reach a total of $10,000 to be contributed to Haitian earthquake relief.

Toluna community members will have the opportunity to select which organization will receive the funds. An email was sent to community members on January 26, informing them of this offer and asking them to vote on which organization they most prefer to contribute to of the Red Cross, UNICEF, United Nations World Food Programme, Doctors Without Borders, or Oxfam.
We will let you know when the final donation has been made and the charity has been selected. |

UPS Rollout – GoClient™
On January 20, we rolled out the UPS system in Europe and Asia, and are now truly using one platform to run our business. This single platform provides clients with a seamless experience, and provides the organization with efficiencies.
We now have a new way of managing projects from the sales process, or bidding phase, through data delivery. One of the byproducts of this, is of course our GoClient customer portal. Clients can use GoClient to view and approve Work Orders online, in real-time.

GoReport™ Enhancements – Our Online Reporting and Analytic Tool
GoReport is a secure online reporting tool that enables users to view data in real-time. The tool can be used to monitor incoming data, prepare quick top line reports, make quick decisions on soft launch data, build final presentations in PowerPoint before the study has finished fielding (including applying filters and stats testing), create cross tabulations with customized banners.
Clients can access the GoReport tool for full-service studies via GoClient. We continue to make the tool easier to use, and contain more and more features like significance testing and other functionality.

Member Voting Activity at an All Time High
We gathered a record number of votes on Toluna.com in January 2010!

The ability for members to engage with one and other, and participate in a ‘community’ is unique, and the fact that we’ve gathered millions of votes in January proves that this is a successful means of engaging respondents,” said Frédéric-Charles Petit, CEO and Founder of Toluna. “Furthermore, 30% of the voting that took place was done in North America, further proving that the concept of a panel ‘community’ has global appeal.”
Toluna.com was launched in North America in July 2009, and that provides a forum where over 4 million members globally to interact and poll each other on a broad range of topics in real-time.
While it is impossible to provide insight into all of the topics posted, members did poll one and other on topics ranging from the Super Bowl and ads seen, to reactions to creative campaigns and ideas. Visitors to www.toluna.com do not need to be enrolled as Toluna panel members to post questions.
The real-time, community aspect of www.toluna.com enables the company to provide members with a real value for participating in surveys, and enables market researchers to access consumer opinions in real-time.
