Ethanol production is growing. In 2014, the world produced 90 billion litres; up 2.7% the previous year. This year alone, the US will produce more ethanol (51.7 billion litres) than needed to replace Canada’s annual gasoline needs. By 2022, the US will produce 136 billion litres a year. Ethanol has the potential to eliminate our need for fossil fuels in automotive transportation and replace it with a homegrown, renewable, environmentally sound fuel.
